Our family group of 19 ranging from 1 to 92 years old had a great time staying at Glenorleigh.Kelly was the perfect host attending to our every wish while the accommodation provided all the facilities for family fun. Situated with walking distance of Torquay beach and entertainment venues, it proved a great base to explore the local area. Thank Kelly for looking after us.

This is a lovely hotel, beautifully decorated and so clean. Kelly the owner is so friendly and can't do enough for you. The breakfasts are very tasty and cooked to order. Particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit salad.Enjoyed sitting by the outdoor pool having drinks from the bar.

This is a quite unique BnB with a spacious sitting and dining area including balcony with the garden view and heated pool. The host Kelly makes you feel you visiting a good friend from the very first moment

We stayed in a family room with our three teenage daughters. The room was spacious and very clean! The pool was heated and our daughters loved it even though we didn’t have the best weather during our stay.Kelly was a wonderful host who was always available when we had questions or needed something. We would definitely stay here again if we were to visit Torquay again!

My first visit to Torquay and I am very happy I picked the Glenorleigh, the owner and her staff are very friendly and hard working and the location of the property is perfect for exploring Torquay. My single room was immaculate and had everything I needed and the added little chocolate and cookie when I went in was a nice gesture. I would definitely visit Torquay again and stay in the Glenorleigh.

We had a lovely stay in your family room.Beautifully decorated and had everything you needed.The facilities at the Glenorleigh were great. A pool room, which we all had a few games.A family tv room which we also used and felt very homely. An outdoor pool.Kelly was so welcoming and was there for anything we needed.We also brought back takeaways in the evening, which Kelly got plates etc for us to eat in the dining room.Breakfast was plenty and value for money.Cannot fault anything.Definitely recommend.

From the moment we arrived we were made extremely welcomed by Kelly the owner who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. My son has learning difficulties and was so happy in his surroundings both Kelly and the house were a very calming effect on him. We had a fantastic time and my son managed to have a swim in the pool that’s looks absolutely stunning in the evening.

The hotel was very clean and at a good location. The only issue I had was while booking the discount code on the website didn't work. I contacted Kelly and was assured that it will be sorted out but later nothing was done about it. It would be better not to advertise a discount code if it doesn't work.Apart from that, everything was great. The breakfast menu was good and the pool area was also nice.

I am sorry that you could not access this code. I have spoken to Queensburgh who manage my bookings and they have insured me that the code is active. I am so disappointed that I only received a 3 star rating because of this.Once the booking is done there is not anything I can do with the payment as I am Taxed on every booking.Hope you understand.Regards.Kelly

I had a brilliant stay at the Glenorleigh at the October half- term. Yet again Kelly and her team gave a warm welcome, and a put on a Halloween Party too 🎃. It is a great place to stay, with beautifully decorated barand dining room, lounge and games room

Kelly really makes this place what it is, warm, comfortable and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are more than adequate, the breakfast selection is great (although indulged in a full english every morning!). Even enjoyed an outdoor swim in September :) We will definitely come again.

It's always difficult to know what to expect when booking accommodation online but what I could not have expected was the beautifully furnished and decorated Hotel that is 'The Glenorleigh' - This really is a hidden treasure, Kelly has impeccable taste and an eye for quality & detail when it comes to the fixtures & fittings and she works unbelievably hard day & night to ensure every guest is made welcome and has a wonderfully relaxing stay - the rooms are immaculate and have everything you need, the bar, games room & dining room are modern, comfortable and overlook the restful, spacious garden with the heated pool - but the jewel in the crown really is Kelly who makes every guest feel so welcome and absolutely nothing is too much trouble for her - I haven't stopped telling friends & family about our stay and this beautiful hotel and I know that if we have a future break in Torbay we will definitely be contacting The Glenorleigh

Spent a lovely 5 nights in this 5 stars Guest Accommodation. Was well looked after by Kelly and her friendly team at all times. My room was tastefully decorated and the shower was modern and very fit for purpose. Room can be cleaned on a daily basis if required. There was a good selection of choices for breakfast and the portions were generous (must add that the home- made smoothies were to die for!). The bar was designed to a high standard and far superior to that of similar establishments I have witnessed. The outside patio area by the small pool was an excellent place to chill out in the hot weather. Would definitely recommend and would obviously return.

Stayed here for 2 nights in a single, en-suite room. The hotel has parking right outside the front door and the hotel is situated about 10-15 minutes walk to the seafront. The room was decorated well, clean and comfortable with items for hot drinks and toiletries. The bathroom is small and cosy but perfectly adequate. The hotel itself is very comfortable with a large lounge area, room with a pool table, large dining area (where you can eat takeaway if ordering in) and outside decking next to a heated pool in the garden. Breakfast was excellent with good hot and cold food options. Best of all is the attitude of the staff - there is a very warm, friendly reception that is maintained throughout the stay.

I travel around a fair bit and this is my favourite accommodation to date. Extremely friendly, spotlessly clean with a fantastic breakfast. Just a shame about the owner Kelly 😂. Joking ! All the staffs were really polite, friendly & helpful. The breakfast was really tasty. I enjoyed our chat each day even though you were busy but you still made time for your guests. You have done an amazing job at the Glenorleigh, it is so beautiful from the inside out. From the moment we stepped in we felt so at home and comfortable. The Glenorleigh is HOME from HOME, Kelly is the best B&B host, so friendly and caring.The rooms are spotlessly clean with comfortable beds and crisp bedding. The towels are luxurious and the rooms are tastefully decorated with tea and coffee making facilities plus biscuits provided. The hotel was extremely clean and well maintained. My My room had everything I needed. Kelly the owner was very friendly ensuring I had an enjoyable stay.The best bit for me was the swimming pool set in a lovely garden of palm trees and plants. Lying on the sun lounger I felt I could’ve been somewhere tropical.Would certainly visit again.

We had a fantastic stay here we were so very well looked after by the owner Kelly. The room was ideal, clean andhad all we needed in it. The breakfast was one of the best we have everhad (Lovely fresh fruit ) with plenty of choice and all cooked freshly for you. Nice bar on site and a heated pool. The hotel is situated not far from town with a 10 min walk needed, although plenty of food outlets local and shops&pubs. Bus stops nearby also for visits to Paington amd Brixham. No hesitaion in staying again

We loved our stay here. The breakfast is very good and filling. We enjoyed using the swimming pool and catching a bit of sun in the garden in the afternoon. The location is close enough to the front and restaurants whilst being not so close as to suffer from noise etc. the staff were all very nice, especially the owner :)

Oh wow, this is a long review so if you are not a reader a quick summary: Kelly is awesome, hotel is an absolute bargain, location spot on, rooms lovely,breakfast anazinggg and pool really is perfect. BOOK! If you appreciate value for money ypu will not be disappointed!!Just got back from a 2 night midweek stay at The Glenorleigh. What an amazing stay I had! Could not recommend this hotel enough. Kelly the owner Is just an absolute angel, such a peach of a person who has clearly poured her heart and soul into the buisness and it shows!The hotel has been beautifully redone, mainly by Kelly herself. The style Is modern, tasteful, homely and welcoming.From the minute I stepped foot In the building you could feel the care of the place, little touches like the toilet paper ended into a corner (never seen this!) A mint on the pillow. Every carpet hoovered and clean, fresh clean air,just felt loved and looked after.A wall full of thank you cards, a fat visitor book stacked full of praise, you know from the off Kelly cares alot about what she does.Also kudos to Kelly has she has a real talent of being completely unobtrusive but equally somehow always there whenever you might need her, that's a skill!The room was well equipped with everything you could need, great TV with full access to Iplayer etc (worked very easily) Free WiFi everywhere that actually works and has constant access. Immaculate kettle and really cute little tea/coffee station, well stocked with supply's and some ​biscuits.​Hairdryer, Cotton wool buds and pads. Plenty of toilet roll and complimentary toiletries, fresh fluffy white towels, actually big enough to wrap yourself in!The bedroom carpet was thick and soft and everything immaculate. Fresh crisp bedding, plenty of pillows.The dining room, bar (fully stocked and reasonably priced), pool table room, lounge and pool areas are all tastefully decorated and feel welcoming and comfortable.The pool was a dream! Its not a massive pool but it's still a great size and deep enough to properly swim some lengths. On a warm day with the palm trees swaying in the breeze and the beautiful garden and blue sky I truly felt abroad.The breakfast was delicious,cooked to order and using a local butcher (I actually saw the butcher drop off!) The sausages were to die for and cooked perfectly. Again Kelly is so helpful, letting you mix and match what you'd like fromthe menu.Free coffee, tea, orange,apple juice, yoghurt, milk, cereals, granola and an absolutely fresh and varied fruit salad. I mean fresh Berry, kiwis, melon, the lot, all ripe and freshly prepared. Free top ups on hot drinks whenever you want a top up.Also top tip,listen (and don't doubt) the directions Kelly will give you to walk to the town and harbour. Google or sat nav doesn't give you the best route, trust Kelly's instructions and you'll genuinely be at the harbour in 10 mins.Overall such great value for money and I cannot wait to come back for a hopefully longer stay next time.Thank you Kelly and team for making my stay super.Gem x

I stayed at The Glenorleigh recently in a single room which was very clean and comfortable. Kelly, the owner, looked after me and my friends exceptionally well. We had a lovely time by the pool, in the bar, and playing on the pool table. I will definitely stay there again if I'm ever in Torquay.

If your looking for a place to stay in Torquay stay here. Everything about this place is absolutely amazing. Rooms, lounge, games room, dining room, bar and the outdoor area with pool blew us away. We had a family room for 3, plus a single, to accommodate our three generation family of four. Host Kelly was warm and welcoming throughout our 3 night stay. Good breakfasts with multiple options. The whole building is immaculately clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts are absolutely delicious and Kelly and the team catered with no issue at all to our child with severe allergies. A special Halloween party was arranged for all the children and it was our boys favourite party of our whole holiday! Thank you so much to all the staff! We had such a great stay at The Glenorleigh, Kelly was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was lovely and really set us up for the day. The room was beautiful and the pool was an extra special touch. All areas were clean and tidy and the guest lounge and pool table were a nice place to spend the evening. The car park is a bit small and tight but there's free on street parking so it's not a problem. Thanks for a great stay Kelly x

My friends and i stayed here, to celebrate a belated birthday! We originally booked the Derwent, they had our money for well over a year,then When we tried to rebook with them, they put the price up by over 100 pounds! We got our money back,and re- booked the Glenorleigh, The breakfast was lovely, fresh fruit salad, cereals etc, and a choice of various hot cooked breakfasts,lovely clean rooms recently decorated,Kelly is a lovely lady, very accomodating, i took a surprise picnic which Kelly let us eat and enjoy with drinks from the bar,we satin the gardenover looking the outdoor heated pool, before we headed out for the evening, Thankyou Kelly snd all the Staff, we will be back soon as we can. It was a v very nice experience. Breakfast was very fresh and hygienic.All Staff was very cooperative and friendly.Location was perfect for a family.The only bad thing in room was,there was no proper baby travel cot provided and single bed was not safe for our 16months old baby.

having stayed at the Glenorleigh a year ago for 5 nights we decided to have a full week. we were not disappointed.from enter the premises to leaving we were treated like family. the standard of our room the Chelstonwas exactly the same as last year. very clean and comfortable. the main guest areas are very clean and tidy and inviting. breakfast is of a high quality with plenty of options. requests can also be catered including vegetarian and gluten free. Kelly can also advice on restaurants to book in the area and places to visit. the Heated outdoor pool is a bonus and a pretty place to chill with plenty of seating/sun beds. we would not hesitate to recommend 100% anyone wishing to book a B and B in Torquay.

If you are looking for a first rate hotel in Torquay look no further than the glenorliegh. The hotel is lovely and clean , the rooms are spacious and well equipped, the pool area is Brill. The family room (two rooms) was comfortable and clean.It was a little disappointing that the only option for us to have breakfast was 8.15am and we weren't offered/allowed later at 9am. As we were on holiday, we would have benefitted from a little bit more time resting in the morning.The pool was heated at 17C which could be turned up a couple of degrees to make it more comfortable. The first thing we heard on arrival was whether we booked on booking.com as the owner would have never let the family room out for two nights only. That didn't feel right as it was neither our fault or something that made us feel good about spending our money there.Beds were comfortable, the guest house guests quiet and the location is easily accessible with nice views out the window.

Fabulous hotel, spotlessly clean, great breakfast, great facilities and Kelly makes you feel so welcome and nothing is to much trouble. Will definitely return and highly recommend.

Great host and staff excellent breakfast really nice place to be and relax.

We had a lovely stay at The Glenorleigh. We were given a warm welcome and our room was ideal for the three of us, the bed was really comfortable and decor is to a high standard. We had drinks at the bar which were very reasonably priced and had a lovely time playing in the pool complete with inflatables! A lot of care and attention to detail throughout the hotel and the breakfast was perfect. Thank you for a great stay. We would highly recommend!

Lovely stay. Just as the website describes. Lovely comfy clean room, very good breakfast and the facilities are very good. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. The pool, although I didn’t use it is very clean and a bonus. Location was perfect for me as I like a bit of a walk to get around and wanted to be closer to the train station. Would definitely stay again if I visit Torquay in the future.

The Glenorleigh is by far the best bed & breakfast in Torquay, not only does it have a heated outdoor pool, the rooms are lovely too. Ideal for families. So glad i found this place. There are many B&B's but this one is quite unique. Kelly the owner has obviously done a lot of work to make this guest house a lovely place to stay. Its very clean and the lounge, dining and games area are beautifully decorated. The pool was a bonus and nice and private. I felt a connection with Kelly the first time i went and returned a month later with my daughter. I definately will stay again and would be happy to go there as a single lady by myself. Thanks Kelly. Ours was a good4night stay. Kelly, Sophie, Jasmin and the team all worked hard to take good care of us. The cooked breakfast was excellent. The hotel was very clean as was our room.Another time we would choose a different room{Warberry] as the people above us were very heavy footed and one night[Friday] this really disturbed our sleep.The pool was clean and lovely to swim in.Kelly works very hard to ensure all guests are well looked after.This was our first visit. We would like to return in the future.

What a lovely hotel. Kelly could not have done more to make an extremely rainy week in Torquay into a really pleasurable experience. Everything is done to make the guests feel at home. Close to the train station and short walk to bus stop into the town center. Pity we didn’t get to use the heated pool, though some hardier visitors did - perhaps next time, as we shall certainly be back.

The Glenorleigh in Torquay is a true hidden gem. Like most this year our holiday abroad had been cancelled and we decided on a staycation to Devon.We could not have been happier with our choice. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner Kelly who welcomed us to the hotel, she showed us around and made us aware of the house rules!1, Do what you like and treat the hotel like your home2, No hot food in the rooms (takeaways) but feel free to use the dining room should you wish to eat in.Kelly really made our stay special, nothing is to much trouble and she really goes above and beyond to make you feel at home.We stayed in the family room which was exactly as described online, clean, tidy and comfortable.Reviews about breakfast online describe it as exceptional and I wouldn’t disagree, everything is freshly cooked to order with a great selection on offer. As well as a fabulous fruit salad each morning.The Glenorleigh has great facilities, a heated outdoor pool, a bar area, pool table and lounge all of which we made use of.All in all we really did feel at home at The Glenorleigh and as a Family travelling with two under 3s this was really important to us. I strongly recommend the hotel and if travelling to Devon again which I’m sure we will soon. We will 100% be returning to stay at The GlenorleighTip.... Book Directly with the hotel

I’ve been here a few times.I like this hotel as it has an informal relaxed feel.It is a quiet, clean hotel.Very friendly.There is a lovely outdoor pool and a bar.The breakfast are good as they are cooked individually.

We stayed in the Cockington room with a double bed and a large bunk bed. Incredible room with private bathroom, kettle, coffee, tea, fridge, wardrobe. Very clean. We really enjoyed the heated pool, the full english breakfast and the friendliness of the staff. Kelly and her team are superb! Strongly recommended. Our daughter cried when we left Glenorleigh. From the moment we arrived on August 14, 2020... a very warm and cosy welcome greeted us by Kelly the owner of this fabulous hotel. Our room was of premiere standard and beyond, the cooked breakfast was delicious from smoked salmon to a full English, with the very finest quality of foods locally sourced. The bar was well stocked and reflected very good value for your money. The swimming pool is heated and clean a great added value for all the guests. Thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay. Beautiful garden and great outdoor pool, spacious family suite. Kelly the owner was so helpful and friendly, and brilliant with my 9 year old grandaughter. Full English Breakfast was spot-on. Felt safe from covid as social distancing and cleaning of public areas was well addressed. Will definitely return!

Stayed for a week for business, Kelly the owner was a perfect host, excellent breakfasts, pleasant terrace to sit out, heated pool which looked great but didn't use, ensuite single room had not been modernised like most rooms there but was cheap so no complaints, and saw a modernised version of the same room type when Kelly kindly let me change for my drive home after checking out.Parking not guaranteed as it holds 6, but street parking ok if needed, quiet backwater but 10 minute stroll to bars and restaurants and 15 mins walk to seafront, train station also in walking distance. Like that it isn't too big.Has a pool table and bar (Devon Rock craft lager vg). Highly Recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay and wished we could have stayed longer. We are a family of four, so stayed in one of the family rooms which was tastefully decorated and spacious.The whole house is immaculate with lovely areas to spend some time including a pool table room, lounge, bar and outside deck.The outdoor heated pool and pool area was a definite bonus especially with the pool lights for evening swimming.Kelly is a wonderful host and goes out of her way to make sure all of her guests are comfortable and happy. It is one of the best places we have stayed and can't wait to return!

We've visited this hotel a number of times now and it is always a pleasure to come back. Very laid back atmosphere, it has everything you need for a great stay and more. The rooms are spacious and clean, very comfortable to rest. The garden with a swimming pool is brilliant, and the short distance to the seafront a massive plus. Have just returned from an excellent four night stay at the Glenorleigh.the room was comfortable with a lovely bed and quality bedding, the food was excellent and the service was second to none.Kelly, the owner goes out of her way to make you feel at home, and nothing is too much trouble. Had a fab time in Torquay staying at the Glenorleigh. Had a beautiful clean room and a lovely friendly welcome on arrival. Kelly is such a lovely women and goes the extra mile for her guests. What a lovely hotel and it’s owned by such a lovely and welcoming lady Kelly. Who definitely made our stay enjoyable. The hotel was beautiful and the room we stayed in was cosy clean and very practical for us as we have a baby. The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very welcoming. We had a great selection of food and so did our daughter. The pool was lovely and had a relaxing time sitting in the sun on the balcony. The hotel is also not far from Torquay town and was a lovely walk to get there. We had a lovely time and a lovely family holiday thank you Kelly. We will be recommending you to everyone we know who wants to visit Devon.

We had an absolutely amazing stay. The owner is one of the most lovely and helpful people I have ever met, she would truly go above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely stay. Good room which was clean and tidy, lovely pool that we spent a look of time in, and the breakfasts were absolutely gorgeous. I am vegetarian and they were more than happy to cater for me. When I arrived, Kellie, the lovely owner, told me that I wouldn’t want to leave ...and she was absolutely right! The decor is stylish, the bed super comfy, the breakfast delicious (lush fresh fruit salad and perfect scrambled eggs and everywhere is spotless. It’s better than a lot of high end hotels I’ve stayed in over the years. It’s got a lovely relaxed vibe and friendly, helpful staff and I will definitely be coming back.

Had a lovely 1st holiday with our baby daughter. The hotel and heated pool are amazing but it’s Kelly the owner made us feel so welcome and really made our stay as easy as possible with a crawling baby. She helped with the baby food and provided toys and helped with trips out and suggestions etc but she really does go the extra mile. She even watched our daughter while we ate dinner one night! Was amazing. Such a caring lady.It’s not just a beautiful place to stay it really is her passion as you can tell from all the little touches and beautiful finishes. Could not recommend highly enough. 5 star ⭐️

Kelly was absolutely brilliant from the time we arrived to departure. She had time for everybody and could not do enough to make your stay special. Rooms are beautifully decorated. Breakfast was more than ample. She has done an excellent job in transforming this hotel. There was also a lovely outdoor pool. We feel fortunate to have foundthis nice B&B in Torquay. It has an ideal position quite centrally located, at the same time quiet and relaxing.The pool is the icing on the cake here, which can also be viewed while taking breakfast, which was very nice.The owner Kelly is the ideal host , we recommend this B&B to families and will return very soon.

Although we didn't get a chance to use it, there is a lovely heated outdoor pool, a great bonus. 10/15 minute walk down to the coast line. Would definitely stay there again

Well what can I say? Kelly was an amazing host! So warm and welcoming always there when you needed her!Breakfast was delightful! Wide range to offer even though we had a full English every morning which was cooked to perfection!Property was spotless always clean and tidy! As a group we shared the family room. It was so spacious never felt on top of each other. Decor was lovely very modern and up to high standards. We went as a group of friends with children. The two girls had the best time! Swimming pool was lovely always kept clean. Facilities are well kept and always at hand if you needed anymore.Over all an amazing stay ! Found myself needing to find accommodation at short notice while visiting a relative in Torbay Hospital. Thee reviews and price made Glenorleigh seem a good choice and I wasn’t wrong! I was the only guest and only gave about half an hour’s notice of my booking but nothing was too much trouble. Nice room, not huge but I only booked a single, with very clean modern en-suite. Massive tasty breakfast.

What a brilliant find! Came across this little gem online and choose it because of the amazing reviews and the ability to be able to have a family of 5 in one room.We were not disappointed. Lovely decor in our room and all communal area. Kelly was an amazing hostess who had everything in hand throughout. It was lovely how she engaged with the children as well as us!The bar and pool table were a nice addition which my 7yr old loved (the pool table not the bar!) Breakfast was amazing. Lovely choice off fruit cereals and yogurts before getting down to the all important cooked! I enjoyed both full English and the following morning smoked salmon. Superb!Look forward to coming back when the pool is back in play!!

Such a beaut hotel, Kelley makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive! I came to The Glenorleigh and stayed for a week. The rooms had everything you could need and the bed was super comfy! I couldn’t recommend this place more, it’s in an ideal location just a short walk from the main high street and beach front. Hopefully I’ll be back again sometime!

A cracking small, private family hotel run by fine hosts John and Kelly. It's service with a smile and plenty of hotel finesse. The hotel, complete with fun heated pool was the cornerstone of a happy two weeks in beautiful Torbay.

I really enjoyed my stay with Kelly and John at the Glenorleigh, their recent renovation works make this a very stylish period victorian house, with beautiful guest Common areas and bar, will definetely stay with them again.

I made the reservations here for a group of 12 attending a conference in Torquay. What an excellent choice! We were warmly welcomed, the facilities were exactly as described and the breakfasts were great. I'm sure we will be re-booking when the conference returns to Torquay in 2 year's time.

Everything you could want from a short stay. Very welcoming hosts (Kelly and John)who went out of their way to get things sorted when the booking process through booking.com got completely messed up. Very tidy rooms, great breakfast and heated outdoor pool as well. Guaranteed parking. Its about a 15 minute walk to the town/harbour or approx. £5 in a taxi. Will definitely stay here again when next in Torquay.

The newly refurbished bar / breakfast area looks fantastic and yes rooms are a bit dated but they were clean and tidy .I can't wait to stay again and to see the rooms when they are all updated which are being done this winter. Anyone coming to Torquay should definitely come here you won't regret it. In there own words spot on.😀

One of the loveliest places we have stayed,Kelly and John the owners were just amazing,so friendly,nothing was too much bother,rooms and decor were great,breakfast so varied,yummy,central location,ideal,

I received a warm welcome upon arrival at Glenorleigh. As a solo female guest I felt comfortable and at ease immediately. My room was immaculately clean - fresh bed linen & soft fresh smelling towels. The en-suite exceptionally clean with little touches like good quality toiletries, ,cotton wool & buds, chocs, teas & coffee etc. The bed was very comfortable, I had a very good night sleep. I went down to the bar in the evening and was kept company by Kelly so I felt completely easy & relaxed with a glass of wine. She made the extra effort to prepare a last minute bite of food for me too. Breakfast was a great selection & range on offer, all very fresh and enjoyable. The bar, dining area & lounge were all stylish and decor subtle yet ideal. I was told Kelly & John were going to refurb the guest rooms upstairs in new year. If these are decorated to the standard of downstairs, they will be beautiful. I even was offered a free lift to the station with my extremely heavy case, by John, and was so grateful it ensured I caught my train on time. Thoroughly recommend the hosting, comfort, cleanliness and personal attention offered to me which is important especially as I was travelling unaccompanied. Would definitely return.

I had a lovely stay at the glenorleigh- only stayed for one night but would definitely go back and would be happy to recommend it to my friends. Arrived to a warm, friendly welcome and a comfortable room. Good location, close to the centre of Torquay.Amazing breakfast in the morning and just an overall smiley place to visit!!

I did not stay at the Glenorleigh, I organised it for my husband and 3 friends who where going to a football match.They were all delighted with their stay and would all most definitely insist on booking again the next time Lincoln visit Torquay. The owners could not have been more helpful and accommodating, even driving the four of them into town after checking in.They had four single rooms and they were all comfortable, breakfast was delicious, no complaints at all. Brilliant

Had a wonderful 3 night stay at The Glenorleigh, the owners John & Kelly were fantastic - extremely welcoming, and looked after all their guests very well.Breakfast was also lovely.I would recommend anyone planning to have a break in Torquay to stay here.

Stayed for 4 nights. Hotel room was clean and well equipped. John & Kelly (hotel owners) were extremely friendly and made our stay even more enjoyable. Bar and Pool area are excellent (pool heated to 28c) and all at a reasonable rate (breakfast included!).Be quick - gems like this don't stay hidden for long!

Lovely holiday Kelly and John were great hosts and went out of their way to make sure we had a great time. Pool was a big hit with the children!

We had a wonderful time at the Glenorleigh, enjoying a superb breakfast, afternoons at the pool and pleasant evenings at the bar.The hosts did everything to offer us relaxed holidays.

We enjoyed our recent two night stay at the Glenorleigh. Pleasant hosts and comfortable, clean accommodation. Short walk from the seafront and a relaxing heated pool.Only niggle the sunbeds are rigid hard plastic but that would not deter us returning. Also confusion with hotels.com website in that I wrongly assumed the reduced rate was for a no refund up front payment and not a room only (no breakfast) rate. As the weather was glorious we decided to have breakfasts in local bars outside on their terraces.

Stayed here with gd friends to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary.we couldn't of picked a better place kelly &john went out of their way to welcome us.the breakfast was excellent nothing was too much trouble.Heated swimming pool topped it off .will definitely visit again was sad to leave 2 days just wasnt enough to see this lovely town .

Great friendly staff, large spacious and comfortable rooms, would recommend to all who want to visit Torquay, close to beach and shops, breakfast was great, parking was a little tight but not problematic

Lovely stay in a quiet location Kelly and john couldn't do enough for us. If we're down Torquay again will definatly book the glenorleigh again.

We stayed for five nights. John and Kelly were excellent hosts. Dining area and bar very comfortable. Lovely garden and pool area. Breakfast was excellent. Only one complaint our Room Dittisham was very dated and worn. Ensuite very small with a very noisy toilet cistern.We understand the rooms are in the process of being updated and it would have been great to have been offered a room change as one came up during our stay. We wish John and Kelly all the best for the future. for the future.

Just got back from a 4 night stay at the glenorleigh and wished we could have stayed longer. My husband and i had a premier room with a 4 poster bed and the room was lovely, our seventeen year old daughter had her own en-suite double and we only paid for a single room for her, so we were more than happy with that. The lounge and bar area and dining area were also really nice , as was the heated pool. The breakfasts were truly excellent with a fruit salad and a full english. The hotel itself was located perhaps just a little further away from the harbour area than we had anticipated ,but it helped to walk off that lovely breakfast and walking in was all downhill, and taxi back if legs were tired was only a fiver. The whole experience was really good and hard to find fault with. Owners were very friendly , hotel was very good value for money. Would certainly stay there again.

I have stayed in torquay a lot over the years and i must say that glenorleigh has been the most welcoming comfortable hotels i have had the pleasure to stay in very well equiped really clean close enough to the town to walk but far enough away to get a quiet nights sleep i would highly recomend this quality hotel to anyone i cant fault it in anyway

John and Kelly were just so welcoming and friendly, just like old friends. Room was very clean and tidy. I would stay there again with no issues.

Booked last minute so didn't expect anything special. Boy was I wrong. Stunning location not far to the beach and town centre.That aside Kelly and John were the best hosts, not only making everyone feel welcome but truly part of their family. There is nothing that is too much trouble and they often pre empt what you need. I have never returned to any hotel but I did this one the next weekend. I can't wait to go back again absolutely amazing.

We liked the modern/nice bar and breakfast area with terrace into the garden in front of the outdoor pool.

We had a lovely stay.Kelly and John made us very welcome with a cup of tea and biscuits. The breakfast was really good and they did all that they could to make our stay as enjoyable as possible It was like a home from home.

Just a one night stay but enough to be impressed with the warm and friendly welcome and pristine accommodation. Very good value. Definitely encouraged me to visit again for family holiday.

Found this gem by accident and it will now be my bae whenever I'm in Torquay. Kelly and John are excellent hosts with a very friendly but still professional touch. Breakfast superb and pool and garden just wonderful.

We loved the breakfast on the terrace, and the staff went out of their way to have the pool perfect and stay most enjoyable. We'll be back!

Had a lovely 3 night stay. Very warm and cordial welcome from the owners. Very clean and comfortable room and bed. An all you can eat beautifully freshly cooked breakfast in a dining room overlooking the inviting heated pool. A nice relaxing bar stocked with draught and local beers. Nothing was to much trouble for Kelly or John. I wish I could have stayed longer. If you stay, you will not be disappointed.

When we got there the welcome we received was lovely with a pot of tea and biscuits which was very welcome We really enjoyed our stay it was very clean the food was lovely the owners were really friendly and helpfully we will defiantly be staying again it's a favourite

Kelly the landlady was very helpful, and her husband very friendly. The front door bell wasn't working when I arrived, so had to phone.The room was comfortable and I had a good nights sleep. Breakfast was good, choice of cereal and fruit to start and I had a lovely full English to finish.If I travel this way again I will definitely book again.

We only spent one night but Kelly and John made us feel very welcome. Our single rooms were clean and comfortable night. Breakfast was very nice (the fresh fruit salad was particularly nice). We didn't use the pool, but it did look nice and I imagine is very refreshing on warm summer days. I have no reservations about recommending The Glenorleigh.

An amazing stay. Catching a morning train, we arrived earlier than our check-in time, yet our room was already prepared. A quiet stay, followed by a great breakfast served at out table the next morning. Since there was no follow up booking for the room we were allowed to extend our check out time. A friendly and relaxed atmosphere indeed!

Nicest place we have had the pleasure of staying in. Lovely owners with a great personal touch. Amazing breakfast. Will return again very soon.

Lovely welcome, Kelly made us a cuppa. The room was fantastic very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was fit for a King , fresh fruit salad, yogurt and full English or what ever you fancied, scrambled eggs were amazing ;) Nothing was to much for them. We will be staying here again. We booked 2 rooms at short notice and were delighted with the lovely accommodation at the Glenorleigh.Friendly, helpful people, scrummy breakfast and just 5 mins walk to a range of places to have evening meals; what else could you ask!

I stay in lots of places overnight for work.Nice rooms, nothing too much trouble for John and Kelly the owners - If you wish to stay in a family run hotel, be like home from home, this is the place for you, plus a fabulous full English breakfast with lovely views.
